Experiencing Sustainable Living - Our two-week Programme will enable young people to fully realise and appreciate being part of the culture, traditions and way of life in community with people who together meet their needs from local and regional resources.

Home-stay - Up to half the visiting group at any one time will be hosted by neighbouring families on a daily basis.

Home base (Quinta Arco-Iris). Our activities focus on:
       — Creating and maintaining food sources,
       — Management of natural resources and diversity,
       — Building "Taipa" Rammed Earth practical work using traditional and modern technology.

Community Outreach – local and regional diversity: 
Practical activities designed to help work with local people in supporting sustainable livelihoods.We will survey the land for soil quality, drainage, natural contours and resources and develop our design for sustainability. On the last day we will share our ideas integrating all we have learned.

You will have great opportunities to enjoy fine walks and beautiful countryside, appreciate the centre and what it offers, share a fireside celebration (please bring stories, jokes + music), discover more about yourself and your natural resources.

Jonathan Evelight runs a renewable energy business. He supports co-operative community building toward sustainable living, and is helping to set up a community land project in Portugal with his partner Jennie who is trained in Permaculture Design and Ayurvedic Medicine.
